The New York Giants were one half away from being in panic mode as they found themselves trailing the lowly Arizona Cardinals at halftime in Week 2.
The Giants had already been shut out against the Dallas Cowboys the prior week and their offensive struggles continued against a Cardinals squad that would be best served tanking.
However, Daniel Jones managed to lead New York to a rousing comeback in the second half and hand his team their first victory of the season.
Alongside Jones was Saquon Barkley who contributed with two touchdowns on the day and showed why he’s valuable to the team.
However, Barkley suffered a right ankle sprain late in the game that forced him to the sideline and was eventually ruled out for Thursday Night Football against the San Francisco 49ers.
Along with Barkley, Andrew Thomas was also ruled out due to a hamstring injury and David Lombardi of The Athletic illustrated how big of a loss both those players are for New York.
The Giants will be missing both Saquon Barkley and starting LT Andrew Thomas against the 49ers.
This is hugely problematic for a team that already allowed 39 pressures and 7 sacks against the Cowboys and whose QB, Daniel Jones, has one of the slowest release times in the NFL

The 49ers, like the Cowboys, boast a terrific defensive unit and their pass rush is their strong suit as they’ve got one of the best edge rushers in the NFL in Nick Bosa.
Without Thomas to guard his blind spot and Barkley to act as his safety valve, Jones could be in for another long evening on the run and throwing the football away.
The short turnaround also works against the Giants as they’ve got to find a way to gameplan without two of their key offensive starters against a ferocious 49ers defense.
