NFL legend Deion Sanders just lost a key piece of his coaching staff.
According to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports, Colorado’s defensive coordinator Charles Kelly is going to leave the program to join Auburn’s defensive staff.
Colorado defensive coordinator Charles Kelly is expected to leave the Buffs for a job on the defensive staff at Auburn, sources tell @247Sports.

Roughly 500 coaches change sides every year in college football, so this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, especially considering the Buffaloes’ late-season debacle after such a promising start to the year.
Kelly spent just one season with the program.
He used to be an assistant defensive coordinator for Alabama for four years, and he was known for his great eye for scouting and recruiting some of the program’s elite players.
He was one of the quickest risers in the college football scene for his great four-year tenure with Florida State, finishing in the top 20 of total defense in three out of those four years.
Needless to say, he was unable to find that same success with a Buffaloes team that ranked No. 130 in the nation, although it’s not like he had a lot of talent to work with.
Even so, with Coach Prime there, it shouldn’t take long before they find a suitable replacement ahead of his second season in charge of the program.
