The Cleveland Brown have been dealt injury after injury during the 2023 NFL season, but they’ve been arguably the most resilient team.
The Browns overcame the odds and clinched a playoff spot this past week when they beat the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football.
Cleveland’s defense has carried the team throughout the season and they had another strong performance, but the offense has also been rolling as of late.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski has had to cycle through multiple quarterbacks this year, but he may have stumbled into a legitimate game-changer in Joe Flacco who’s breathed life into the passing game.
Flacco’s been hot since taking over the starting quarterback job and he had another impressive outing against the Jets when he threw for 309 yards and three touchdowns with just one interception.
The veteran is already only 72 yards away from passing Johnny Manziel on the franchise’s passing yards list and the former quarterback took the milestone in stride via his personal Twitter account.
“Some records were meant to be broken,” Manziel tweeted.

Manziel’s NFL tenure was marred with controversial moments that ended with him being released from the Browns in just his second season, so it’s no surprise that Flacco is already close to passing him.
Unlike Manziel, Flacco’s been the adult in the locker room who’s kept the team together and has them poised to compete in the postseason.
While it remains to be seen how far Flacco can actually take the Browns, there’s no doubt that the past few weeks have been exciting for Cleveland fans.
