Professional sports these days are all about all-time debates, with the greatest-ever conversations happening on a daily basis, with some of the most intriguing being in the NFL right now.

Two debates in the NFL that seem to have a clear answer in the opinions of many when it comes to fans, media, as well as current and retired players, is who is the greatest quarterback of all time and who is the greatest wide receiver in the history of the league.

The recently retired Tom Brady seems to have a tight grip on the distinction as the greatest quarterback the NFL has ever seen while also potentially being the greatest player ever.

As for wide receiver, the debate has evolved over the last few years, with the talent at the position currently being quite stacked, but the consensus continues to be that no player in the history of the league was better than San Francisco 49ers legend Jerry Rice.

It appears that former Cincinnati Bengals star Chad Johnson begs to differ when it comes to the debate about the wide receiver position, as he’d go with Randy Moss and Terrell Owens in terms of talent, while Shannon Sharpe is going with the numbers that Rice put up in his Hall of Fame career, as they said on their “Nightcap” podcast.

It’s hard to argue with Sharpe’s stance here as Rice’s numbers blow the other two out of the water, not to mention the three Super Bowl titles he won catching passes from Joe Montana and Steve Young in San Francisco.

However, Johnson knows the position and sees it from a different perspective, which has to be taken into consideration in this debate, but in the end, most will still go with Rice on numbers alone.
