“The prosperity of our country is tied to the prosperity of its workers,” said Claudia Sheinbaum.

MEXICO.- Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, serving as the National Coordinator for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation, underscored the critical role of cooperation between workers and employers in promoting the nation’s well-being during the XV National Ordinary Congress of the Autonomous Confederation of Workers and Employees of Mexico (CATEM). She stressed the importance of expanding labor rights and avoiding any regression to previous practices.

In her speech, Sheinbaum Pardo highlighted the necessity of aligning goals and objectives to sustain the ongoing transformation of public life in Mexico. She emphasized that the primary focus should be on furthering the Fourth Transformation and preventing a return to times marked by corruption and privilege.

After administering the oath to the first Labor Committees for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation within CATEM, Sheinbaum reiterated her commitment to securing a dignified life for workers. She emphasized the importance of collaboration between the labor and business sectors, an approach strongly advocated by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

Senator Pedro Haces Barba, who also serves as the general secretary of CATEM, pointed out the progress achieved through the collaboration between labor representatives and the 4T government, citing accomplishments such as the increase in the minimum wage and the end of outsourcing practices. He stressed the need to ensure that all decisions are guided by the principles of the 4T movement.

Senator Ricardo Monreal highlighted the importance of reinforcing the relationship between workers and the government to continue expanding labor rights under Sheinbaum Pardo’s leadership.

The XV National Congress of CATEM was attended by key figures, including Mario Delgado Carrillo, national president of Morena, along with governors and representatives from various institutions, who voiced strong support for the principles and objectives of the congress.
