Governor Mara Lezama was a guest at the XV Congress of the Confederation of Autonomous Workers and Employees of Mexico (CATEM), where Claudia Sheinbaum, National Coordinator of the Committees for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation, was also in attendance.

At the event in Mexico City, the Governor of Quintana Roo reiterated her strong support and commitment to working alongside Claudia Sheinbaum, whom she joined at the head table with other officials, including Mario Delgado, leader of Morena.

The CATEM congress provides a space for dialogue between union representatives and aims to improve working conditions for employees, particularly those from Quintana Roo.

Founded 15 years ago, the union now boasts around 7 million members across 1,192 labor organizations in various industries.

“Thank you, Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum, for making time in your schedule. You first governed my homeland, Tlálpan, a place I am proud of, and then you led this city where we are now. Soon, you’ll see what happens. You are a top-tier woman, thank you, dear friend,” said union leader Pedro Haces.

Sheinbaum responded by officially announcing a coalition with the workers’ union.

“Next Monday, we will officially begin the process for my presidential campaign, and I invite you all to join us. I promise the workers we will keep defending their salaries and labor rights because we know that when workers thrive, businesses and Mexico thrive as well.”
