Acalanes High School’s varsity teams have been on fire this season, and their hard work and determination have paid off as they advance to the North Coast Section (NCS) Division II championship game. The 15th-seeded Rancho Cotate will be their opponent in the final, and the Acalanes community couldn’t be more excited.
The road to the championship game has been a tough one for Acalanes, but they have proven time and time again that they are a force to be reckoned with. In their semi-final game, they faced off against Healdsburg High School, and it was a game to remember. Acalanes showed their dominance from the very beginning, overpowering Healdsburg with their impressive skills and teamwork. The final score was a resounding 4-1, and Acalanes secured their spot in the Division IV final.
But Acalanes isn’t the only team from our area that has been making waves in the NCS playoffs. Las Lomas High School’s softball team has also been making a name for themselves, and they have their sights set on the Division IV title. In their semi-final game against Healdsburg, Las Lomas showed no mercy as they dominated the field. Their strong offense and solid defense proved to be too much for Healdsburg, and Las Lomas emerged victorious with a final score of 6-2.
The stage is now set for an epic showdown between Acalanes and Rancho Cotate in the Division II championship game. Both teams have had an impressive run in the playoffs, and it’s anyone’s game. Acalanes will have to bring their A-game if they want to take down the 15th-seeded Rancho Cotate, but with their determination and skill, they are more than capable of doing so.
In the softball division, Miramonte High School has also been making headlines with their impressive performance. In a stunning upset, they ousted the top-seeded McKinleyville High School in the semi-finals. It was a nail-biting game that had fans on the edge of their seats until the very end. Miramonte’s strong pitching and timely hitting proved to be the winning combination, and they secured their spot in the Division V championship game.
The Acalanes community is buzzing with excitement as both their baseball and softball teams prepare for their respective championship games. The players have been working tirelessly all season, and their hard work and dedication have paid off. The entire community is behind them, cheering them on every step of the way.
