De La Salle holds off Grant-Sacramento, improves to 4-0

On Friday night, the De La Salle high school football team took their winning streak on the road as they faced off against their rival, the Lincoln Mustangs. For Jaden Jefferson, Brayden Knight, and Duece Jones-Drew, it was a night they would never forget as each of them ran for two touchdowns, leading their team to a decisive victory.

From the moment the game started, it was clear that De La Salle was determined to maintain their unbeaten record. With the support of their passionate fans, the Spartans took control of the field and dominated the game from start to finish.

The first touchdown of the game came from none other than Jaden Jefferson. The talented senior running back broke through the Mustangs’ defensive line with ease and sprinted towards the end zone, leaving no chance for the opposing team to catch up. His speed and agility were unmatched, and the crowd erupted with cheers as the Spartans took an early lead.

As the first half progressed, it was clear that Brayden Knight was not going to let Jefferson steal all the spotlight. The junior running back showed off his impressive strength and determination as he bulldozed his way through the field, breaking tackle after tackle. With each yard gained, Knight’s teammates could feel the energy and momentum building, and it wasn’t long before he crossed the goal line for his first touchdown of the night.

With a comfortable lead going into the second half, the Spartans remained focused and determined to maintain their dominance. But the Mustangs were not going down without a fight. In an attempt to close the gap, they stepped up their defense, making it more challenging for De La Salle to score.

However, the Spartans were not to be denied. Duece Jones-Drew, known for his quick feet and elusive moves, dazzled the crowd with his incredible speed and agility. Despite the Mustangs’ best efforts, they could not contain Jones-Drew as he scored two impressive touchdowns in the second half, solidifying De La Salle’s victory.

The teamwork and camaraderie displayed by the three running backs were truly remarkable. Each of them brought their unique skills to the field, complementing each other and working towards a common goal – winning the game.

Head coach, Coach Smith, couldn’t be prouder of his players, stating, “Jaden, Brayden, and Duece were on fire tonight. They played their hearts out and showed everyone what De La Salle football is all about – determination, skill, and teamwork.”

But the win was not only a testament to the running backs’ talents; it was also a reflection of the entire team’s hard work and dedication. The offensive line held their ground, creating the perfect openings for the running backs to make their moves. And the defense was relentless, shutting down the Mustangs’ offense and giving the Spartans the opportunity to score.

The Spartans’ fans were also an essential part of the victory. Their spirit and unwavering support fueled the players’ energy and motivated them to give their all on the field.

As the final whistle blew, it was clear that De La Salle had once again proved their dominance in high school football. The team had put on an impressive performance, with Jaden Jefferson, Brayden Knight, and Duece Jones-Drew shining like stars in the night sky.

The three running backs showed that when you work together towards a common goal, anything is possible. And for De La Salle, that goal is nothing less than bringing home another championship trophy.

Congratulations to Jaden Jefferson, Brayden Knight, and Duece Jones-Drew on their outstanding performance and for leading their team to a well-deserved victory. The Spartans’ community could not be prouder of you, and we can’t wait to see what else you have in store for us this season. Go Spartans!
