Sheinbaum urges the ongoing implementation of the Fourth Transformation to better the situation for workers.

Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, National Coordinator for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation, underscored the crucial role of workers’ prosperity in the overall well-being of both the country and its entrepreneurs during the XV Ordinary National Congress of the Confederation of Autonomous Workers and Employees of Mexico (CATEM).

At the congress, Sheinbaum established a formal partnership with CATEM as part of broader efforts to integrate various sectors into Mexico’s public life transformation. She highlighted the country’s current positive trajectory and the need to advance labor rights while avoiding regression to past practices. She stressed the collective aim of preventing a return to corruption and privileges and continuing with the Fourth Transformation.

During her inauguration of the Labor Committees for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation at CATEM, Sheinbaum reaffirmed her dedication to protecting workers’ rights and wages, emphasizing the importance of working collaboratively with entrepreneurs. “Our shared goal is to avoid reverting to a past marked by corruption and privileges and instead continue with the Fourth Transformation of Mexico’s public life,” she declared. “I remain committed to defending workers’ wages and benefits. Our goal is to progress together for the benefit of workers and our country,” she added.

Pedro Haces Barba, senator and general secretary of CATEM, commended the strides made in the partnership between the working class and the 4T government, including the minimum wage increase and the abolition of subcontracting. “We are in critical times, which is why, at this congress, we reaffirm our dedication to the values of the Fourth Transformation,” said Haces Barba.

Senator Ricardo Monreal also attended, emphasizing the need to sustain a positive relationship between workers and the government to continue expanding labor rights. “The agreement and alliance need to be established now, with Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo,” Monreal concluded at the XV National Congress of CATEM.
