Mbalula Says the Party Remains Confident in the Newly Appointed KZN Provincial Task Team
The African National Congress (ANC) has recently announced the appointment of a new Provincial Task Team (PTT) in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN). This decision was made in light of the recent challenges faced by the party in the province. The PTT will be responsible for leading the ANC in KZN until a new provincial executive committee is elected at the upcoming provincial conference.
The announcement was made by the ANC’s Head of Elections, Fikile Mbalula, who expressed the party’s confidence in the newly appointed team. Mbalula stated that the PTT is made up of experienced and capable individuals who have the necessary skills and knowledge to lead the party in KZN.
The ANC has faced numerous challenges in KZN in recent years, including factionalism, infighting, and allegations of corruption. These issues have not only affected the party’s image but have also hindered its ability to effectively govern the province. However, with the appointment of the PTT, the ANC is determined to turn things around and regain the trust of the people of KZN.
Mbalula emphasized that the PTT’s main focus will be to unite the party and ensure that it remains a strong and united force in the province. The team will also work towards rebuilding the ANC’s structures and strengthening its grassroots support. This is crucial in the lead up to the 2021 local government elections, where the ANC aims to retain its majority in KZN.
The newly appointed PTT is led by Sihle Zikalala, who is also the current ANC Provincial Chairperson. Zikalala is a seasoned politician and has been a member of the ANC for over 30 years. He has also served as the MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs in KZN. Zikalala’s leadership skills and experience make him a suitable candidate to lead the PTT and steer the ANC in KZN towards success.
The PTT also includes other prominent ANC members such as Mike Mabuyakhulu, who is the former ANC Provincial Treasurer and Nomusa Dube-Ncube, who is the current MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs. The team also includes young and dynamic leaders such as Kwazi Mshengu, who is the ANC Youth League Provincial Secretary.
Mbalula also addressed the concerns raised by some ANC members regarding the inclusion of individuals who were previously implicated in corruption allegations. He stated that the PTT is not a court of law and that these individuals have not been found guilty of any wrongdoing. The ANC believes in the principle of innocent until proven guilty and will not exclude any member based on allegations alone.
The ANC’s decision to appoint a PTT in KZN has been welcomed by many within the party and the public. It is seen as a step in the right direction towards addressing the challenges faced by the ANC in the province. The PTT has already hit the ground running and has been engaging with ANC branches and structures to understand the issues they face and find solutions.
In conclusion, the ANC remains confident in the newly appointed PTT in KZN. The team has the full support of the party and is determined to bring about positive change in the province. The ANC urges all its members and supporters to rally behind the PTT and work towards a united and strong ANC in KZN. With the PTT at the helm, the ANC is ready to face the challenges ahead and emerge victorious.
