Over a decade ago, the Golden State Warriors helped change the way the game is played in the NBA, with Stephen Curry and company sparking the three-point revolution.

Even though many didn’t think this style of basketball would last as, at some point, shooters would go cold, the rest of the league adopted the style, and the league headed into a new era, making it hard for some players to change their game.

One of those players who hasn’t totally been able to adjust to this style of basketball is DeMar DeRozan of the Chicago Bulls, who lives and dies by the mid-range, which is how the game was played during the Michael Jordan era.

Even though DeRozan hasn’t become a prolific three-point shooter like other dominant scorers in the league, the Bulls star has been able to stay relevant, as he pointed out that only 38 players have scored more than he has in NBA history, via The Athletic and NBACentral.

At one point, it seemed as though any player who scored at a high level who didn’t adjust their game to be a high-volume shooter from deep wouldn’t last in the NBA, but DeRozan has defied the odds and continues to be one of the best scorers in the league.

However, DeRozan’s future in Chicago is somewhat up in the air, as the Bulls could be looking to make some moves this season, with the veteran guard potentially on the trading block.

The Bulls could clean house if the team doesn’t turn things around by the NBA trade deadline in February, with DeRozan being a valued asset.
