The New Orleans Saints have gotten off to a quick start to the 2023 NFL season, with Derek Carr and company winning their first two games against the Tennessee Titans and Carolina Panthers.
Although the team is undefeated after the first two weeks of the 2023 campaign, it didn’t come without a cost, with the team losing running back Jamaal Williams to a hamstring injury that he suffered on Monday night against the Panthers.
The Saints were already shorthanded at the running back position with five-time Pro Bowler Alvin Kamara suspended for the team’s first three games, and now they’ll have to move forward without Williams heading into Week 3.
According to Ari Meirov, Saints head coach Dennis Allen has let it be known that Williams is expected to miss some time with his hamstring injury.

Although Williams hasn’t made much of an impact in the first two games, the Saints will be without him and Kamara for Week 3 when the team travels to Wisconsin to take on Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers.
Fortunately for New Orleans, Taysom Hill can help shoulder the load in the rushing department, as he’s coming off a performance in which he carried the football nine times for 75 yards.
Along with Hill, the Saints got some production out of the backfield from Tony Jones Jr., who scored two rushing touchdowns in the win over the Panthers.
The Saints will only have to play one more game without Kamara, who will be done with his suspension and ready to return for Week 4 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
